Fifty-minute live option for high schoolers, grades 8 – 12
A weekly, graded literature class for grades 8 – 12. Students will discuss classical and historical literature with their teacher and other students, take part in fun class projects, and exercise their writing skills. Teachers will pay special attention to the historical context of each reading. We help students take delight in quality literature.

Meet Our Teachers
Julia Nalle is a wife, mother, licensed practical nurse, teacher, writer and co-owner of BiblioPlan. She has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Arts in Religion with emphases in Old Testament studies, counseling and pastoral ministry. Julia and her husband have five children, three of whom are adopted.
Julia started her teaching career fresh out of college, taking a full-time job as a first-grade teacher at a Christian school. She has taught in many settings in the forty-plus years since then, from homeschooling her own children to homeschool cooperatives, one-on-one special needs tutoring, and on-line classes. She has also spent the past twelve-plus years co-authoring BiblioPlan. Julia loves engaging children through story-telling, discussion, humor and active learning.
Julia’s son Ben Nalle is a twenty-eight-year-old history buff with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Liberty University. He has worked as a swim coach for ten years, taught history in the classroom for two, and is now returning for his third year teaching Biblioplan online.
Ben’s favorite part of teaching is leading lively discussions. His greatest joy in the classroom comes from watching kids truly engage and get excited about the lesson.
Ben and his lovely wife Anna are newlyweds coming up on their first anniversary. In his spare time, Ben is an exercise fanatic who also enjoys fixing up old furniture, playing guitar, singing, and eating way too many sweets!
Teresa Jones is an experienced online teacher, offering classes in government and speech to high school and middle school students. She also teaches speech and critical thinking at co-ops and local libraries.
Teresa loves dynamic classrooms where students ask questions and everyone has fun learning together. She is always seeking new ways to keep learning exciting and engaging for all her students.
Before becoming a mom, Teresa was a successful broadcast journalist. She anchored one of the highest rated newscasts in the nation and appeared on CNN and CSPAN. She has a degree in Political Science from Ball State University.
Teresa homeschools her two teenage daughters with her husband, Peter. In her spare time, Teresa enjoys sewing, geocaching, and playing her ukulele.

FAQ
What are the dates for the live classes?
ZOOM classes begin August 26, 2024. There will be 34 lessons in all, 31 live and 3 pre-recorded. We will not meet on major holidays.
Will students receive grades for these classes?
Formal grades will not be assigned for classes using Remember the Days, although parents are free to assign grades. BP teachers will assign grades for classes using Consider the Years/Companion.
Families are welcome to take part in the Elementary or Middle school classes together. Students may share a device (not a Chromebook), but will be expected to do their own maps and question pages. Families should choose the age range that best suits your students and join that class together.
Each high school student must have his or her own device (not a Chromebook), and must complete his or her own maps and question pages.
6th graders who are up for a more challenging experience should take the Middle School Adventurers class. Those who want a simpler version should take the Elementary Adventurers class.
We are open to enrolling advanced 2nd graders who are able to read and work independently.
Do you make accommodations for special learners?
Special learners have been attending our ZOOM classes for two years now and have had great experiences. Our classes are all adaptable and flexible. For help deciding what might work best for your student, please e-mail biblioplan@gmail.com.
Can we get a refund if we decide not to finish the class?
We offer a grace period through the end September during which you can receive a 70% refund if you choose to drop the class.
From what worldview will these classes be taught?
All our teachers have a Christian worldview. We consider history to be a wonderful springboard to talk with students about God and what it means to be a person of Faith.
Why can’t our student use a Chromebook for class?
Unfortunately, Chromebooks are incapable of accessing the annotated tools in Zoom. We use those tools to engage students as we answer questions, interact with maps, color pictures and more. Students who lack those tools can’t participate fully, and thus feel left out.
Will the live classes be recorded?
We do record our ZOOM sessions, but only for two kinds of students: those enrolled in Zoom Hybrid, and Live Zoom students who happen to miss a session. For privacy reasons, only those two kinds of students can access the recordings.
How do your teachers use Google Classroom?
Our teachers use Google Classroom to share zoom links, assignments, class recordings, and other important information with students. Students can access Google Classroom by either the app or the website, using a class code they will receive at the beginning of the school year.
Zoom Hybrid is for high school students who cannot attend sessions live, but still want to take part in all the class has to offer. It is a great option for anyone who has scheduling conflicts with the live sessions, including military families, missionaries, and those living outside the USA. Students access live sessions when they can, and recorded sessions when they cannot. They also interact with the teacher, stay on pace with the live class, access all study guides and tests, and receive grades and feedback.
Zoom Self-Paced is a pre-recorded option for students who cannot attend live classes, but still want to see and hear the material presented by a teacher. Each session runs about 45 minutes, and includes the same lesson, short videos, games and discussion questions as the live classes. The material in Zoom Self-paced comes mainly from Remember the Days, but also from Consider the Years/Companion and other sources. All ages will find Zoom Self-Paced to be a nice addition to their weekly history studies.
