Introduction to the

The Discussion Guide is a parent/teacher aid designed to help parents, teachers and students get the most out of the time they spend together. Discussion can be as essential as writing, for both require students to organize their thoughts and wrestle with their beliefs. Family discussions around the dinner table can be the perfect arena for parents to share their faith with their children. Classroom discussions can be the most inspiring part of any school day.

Most of the material in the Discussion Guide falls into one of three categories:

  1. Review material from previous chapters— there to help parents and teachers place each lesson in its proper context.
  2. Succinct summaries of the new material in the Companion— there to help parents and teachers review the high points without having to reread the entire text.
  3. Thought-provoking questions— there to provoke meaningful discussions, especially about matters of faith.

BP publishes one Discussion Guide for each year of study. Only the parent/teacher needs one.
